Guidance and navigation system for BlueBoat USV

My final BSc project, which I am writing at DTU Electro. The goal of the project is to create a mathematical model for the maneuvering of the BlueBoat USV, and use that model in conjunction with experimental data to design a guidance and navigation system for the craft such that autonomous mapping and surveillance missions can be performed.

Automated plasma measurement gantry

This was a school group project, where I and four other students designed and built an improvement to the linear plasma measurement device, which is installed in the DTU fusion energy research department. The device measures plasma emissions from a small tokamak. We designed and built a 2DoF gantry which hopefully will allow the department to perform tomographic studies on the plasma.

Float Forward

Float Forward is a student-run project at DTU with the goal of building an eco-friendly single pilot catamaran to race at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. I designed, manufactured and implemented many mechanical parts of the 2026 competition boat, which scored 6th place in Monaco out of 21 competing teams from around the world.

TurboBrush

Turbobrush was inspired by the struggle of brushing climbing holds during a tiring climbing session. The brush has a battery pack, high power brushless blower unit, BMS, and runs on an ATTINY microcontroller.

SEEK

SEEK was a school mechatronics project where I worked with a group to build a surveillance and mapping uncrewed surface vehicle. The drone was made with cheap hobby electronics parts, yet it was still mostly functional with a custom mission planning app, PID heading controller and waypoint navigation algorithm using GPS and IMU data. We built and programmed the drone in only 3 weeks.

Meat slicer repair

I happened to come into the possession of a broken industrial deli meat slicer. A friend and I took it apart and found a broken nylon helical gear. My friend had recently acquired a 3D scanner so we used it to scan the broken gear, which we then 3D-printed and reinstalled.

Mushroom lamps

Designed and printed voronoi mushroom lampshades with a friend. We made the wooden legs on a wood lathe. We experimented with water-soluble supports and also specially formulated break-away supports, with great success.

Bench

A friend and I wanted to practice woodworking, so we designed a social and cozy bench to promote the social atmosphere at our dormitory. It was designed in Fusion 360 and manufactured with power tools and 3D-printed parts.

Manufacturing of injection molds for polymer production

In the first year of my BSc, I worked in a group of students to CNC machine simple molds for injection molding. We programmed the parts, milled them and used them in a small 10-ton molding machine. Afterwards, we characterized the geometric deviations (shrinkage and warping) in a metrology lab using dial indicators, a shadowgraph and a coordinate measuring machine.

Carbon fiber electric skateboard

As a high school student, I spent some of my free time building, testing and improving a custom carbon fiber electric skateboard. I designed and built the deck, drivetrain and electronics, using mostly scavenged hardware and RC parts.
